The plans of investigating cryptocurrency and blockchain had been declared by the Iranian government earlier in February 2014. The Central Bank of Iran, the Securities and Exchange Organization, the Ministry of ICT, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, the judicial system, the Police Force, the Cyber Police, and the Majlis Research Center have been actively holding conferences to harmonize and synergize for the purpose of surveying blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The technology is expected to facilitate the transfer of money anywhere in the world, therefore authorities have emphasized its regulation.
